Born in Mexico City but relocated with his family to Napa Valley at a young age, Giovani “Gio” Verdejo developed a passion for wine and the art of making it. He pursued this interest by studying enology at Napa Valley College and the University of California (UC), Davis.

With over 22 years of experience in the industry, Giovani is known for his excellent palate and innovative approach to premium winemaking. His strong work ethic and dedication to the craft helped him quickly rise through the ranks in the industry and honed his winemaking skills. Keen attention to detail and an innate sense of intuition enabled him to produce some of the finest wines.

Despite his success, Giovani remains humble and committed to his craft. He has a tireless work ethic, an unwavering commitment to producing high-quality wines, and a solid dedication to his team like no other. His visionary approach to winemaking has established him as a true master of his craft, earning a legacy as one of the industry’s most talented and innovative winemakers for generations to come.

Giovani specializes in handcrafting luxury Bordeaux and Rhone wines. He has made plenty of these products, which have garnered 90+ ratings from esteemed wine critics consistently. His ability to balance tannins and fruit, diversified experience working with other varietals, and mastery of the wine-aging process have earned him a reputation as one of California’s best winemakers.
